There have already been 2-3 new builds since it's release. And the release notes posted are usually sparse. Since the program has several compoents it's not always clear which components to update. Should we always update each component over the top whether it's been changed or not? If not, in the release notes would you please indicate which of the 5 parts of the program actually need updating?

Also if you are using the startup recovery manager, is it automatically updated with the latest hardware support when the new build is installed? If not, I'm assuming you have to remove the recovery manager and reactivate it after the new build is installed.

Has Universal Restore been discontinued? I purchased and registered it with 9.1 but it no longer shows as a downloadable update when I log in.

    Please advise.

    TIA :)

    Hello WFO,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Workstation Disk Backup Software.

We are very sorry for the delay with the response.

Yes, you should update all components each time you install the new build.

Actually, Acronis Startup Recovery Manager should be updated automatically upon the newer build installation. However, there is a known issue which prevents it from doing so. We therefore recommend that you re-activate Acronis Startup Recovery Manager using Activate Acronis Startup Recovery Manager tool accessible via the main program window each time you install the new build.

Please note that the issue with Acronis Startup Recovery Manager not being updated automatically is known and will certainly be fixed in the future Acronis True Image builds. I'm afraid that the exact time frame for the fix to be implemented is not decided yet. Please accept our apologies for the current inconvenience.

I've just tested it myself using our testing account and was able to download Acronis Universal Restore installation file without a problem. Most likely the reason why you can not find it in your account is that you are looking at the Product Updates rather than at the Registered Products section. Please see my reply in this previous thread for further details.

If you have any further questions concerning Acronis software, please feel free to submit a request for technical support or post any of them on this forum. We will certainly try to help you in resolving any issues.

    Thank you.
