No, they are not VM figures, they are taken from the Mem Usage tab in Task Manager.

Also, here's what I'm getting for resource usage in a VM. I think these are pretty reasonable numbers so far.

    Excellent work, ewido Team!!! :D

I love the GUI, the features organization, etc.
Very professional and easy to use ;)

    Few questions:
    1. What happen to the HIPS feature?
    2. This version already have the full Heuristic feature?
    3. What browsers are supported to detect tracking cookies?

The only thing bad that it still have are the usage resources, that should be improved a lot, at least when we use all the Guard features...

    Keep the excellent work!
    Regards

Was it at the actual Stand of 4.0 ok using it alone, or was it better, using it together with the 3.5 for the moment, the final 4.0 will be released ?

    Hi Peter,

My resource usage is a lot higher and I am see CPU spikes of about 20 % (ewido.exe). Very high VM usage for ewido.exe.

The scanner setting term used is a little confusing.

For "Set default action for detected malware to":
    Recommended Action.

Reading that it seems a default recommended action would execute, and then I wondered what it was (Quarantine, Delete ...).

But then I realized that it probably means to have the user recommend the action to be taken by the program.

The wording should be changed to remove confusion.

hello all I'm very disapointed this evening, I have registered for the beta twice and still no email or download available to me and I'm a licensed member of the ewido 3.5 family. I would appreciate a little help with this. Thanks

Yes, when you left-click on the orange "recommended action", you can see the options "Ignore Once", "Quarantine", "Delete", "Add to Ignore List" and "Recommended actions".

I think the much more open user panel and choices is a big improvement, well done to Ewido; of course the uninitiated (like me) shouldn't tamper with stuff they know little or nothing about. I may download the Beta separately after a few days, to see what bugs or troubles others may report. But I would retain the 3.5 version on my harddrive but disabled until 4.0 is finalised, which might be weeks ahead yet.

Unfortunately, these very low figures are not seen on all systems! In fact from the posts so far, much higher usage seems the norm.

Let's hope this high memory usage can be improved before the full version is released and the option to uninstall the Guard is restored in v.4.

After using the guard for some time, I didn't see any improvement!
If I only have the Automatic updates enable, it use more resources that with all the features enabled. Very bad that this is same of the v3.5...

Why the ewido team didn't say nothing about the users questions?
Why the beta version if we can't see any feedback from the developers!?

    se7engreen,

How is it that your virtual memory is that low when running Ewido?
My virtual memory is ALOT higher than that.
The other posts that I have read here are about high memory usage also.

What makes this even worse is its been over 24 hours and I've yet to get a response, even a reply in the news group. I guess GRISOST DON'T WANT ANYMORE OF MY MONEY.

Are you using a Spam-Filter? If so, have you checked the Junk Mail folder? This is the cause most of the time...

Peter if you check this link you'll see this is happening to a few people
    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=129006

It's now 24 hours since registering and no response, and no it's not a spam filter problem or the like, I explained on the other post that I actually registered twice, the second time about an hour after the first, using my two legit email accounts and all my correct details, nothing happened, so several hours later I set up an online email account, filled in all the details at grisoft with incorrect details, false name address etc., and bingo recieved an email from grisoft immediately with download instructions. 24 hours later nothing has turned up on my proper email account, and if you check the other post you'll find others experiencing the same thing. Your starting to collect some p*ssed off clients.

Still haven't got my link and there's nothing in my junk mail folder.
This is not a very good start to the new company.

Total pants, tried to sign up with another email and got this message...

"An error occured while saving Your data. Please try to submit form later.

Note: GRISOFT will only use the information you provide for beta program purposes."

Do they want people to test this?

Why oh why not just post a bloody link for the beta?

    Hi, Joliet Jake

I think they are doing some a Lot of Farming. [Harvesting]

Paid for lifttime, now they seem to need my Death Certifcate to see how long they have to keep me updated.

    Take Care,

This seems so very corporate USA.
They now have my address, phone number etc and I have no beta version.
What I'm looking for now is a swift resolution to the problem and my link to the beta.

I'm very very dissapointed atm + 24 hours after registering while they already have all my details anyway so no results .. nothing in my spamfilter and certainly nothing in my inbox (not even in my pm inbox :doubt: ) .. I considered myself as being their biggest fan but the last 2 days this upgrade/betabusiness has managed to put my both feet on the ground .. I still have no beta and nothing received at all ...
:gack: no responses to my pm's, no responses to my posts ... and I get this as being a one of their first customers, numerous times of help and laughs, ...

sad .. very sad .. I have a lifetime licence but seriously considering on uninstalling it (well, I ain't gonna upgrade till Ewido upgrades automaticaly, that's for sure)

I don't have any fun in posting btw :doubt: :'(
