    For those who would be interested to know which port is
    open in relation to which program. I found that list
    very useful.

    Ah, cool. That will come in handy.

    If I can add a couple;

    http://www.neohapsis.com/neolabs/neo-ports/neo-ports.html

    http://isc.incidents.org/port_details.html?port=27374

    With regard to the latter URL, if you replace the last number with whatever port number you are interested in it will create a page showing the current and historical stats for scans against that port (pulled from the dShield database) as well as known applications/services on that port, known CVE vulnerability listings, etc

    Thank you Dan.

    I really find the tool "isc.incidents.org/port_details.html" very interesting and useful. Thanks again.

    I hope you don't mind, I did pass your link to the Lavasoft Forum.

    Cheers

    Neat. If you like "bookmarklets" here's one that gives an input box for the port number. Just create a bookmark or favorite and use the following as the URL (beware word wrap):

    javascript:void(str=prompt('Type or paste a port number'));void(location=('http://isc.incidents.org/port_details.html?port='+str));

    Overboard,

    That is a great tip, thank you! I use that resource frequently and the best I came up with was a simple python script that I envoked from the "Run" menu but that is far more unwieldly than your solution.

    You got another cookie!

    Hi all,
    i look always in the first place in the port references in Port Explorer and TDS, and only if i really need in Dshields links; the lookup way you posted above is nice too, thanks for that!
