BS settings, scans typically took 25 minutes. Now looking at 75 minutes. Nothing has changed on my system.

    Ideas?

When were you comparing? Not having a go at you, but were the 25min scans several years ago, as in the newer 75min scans may now scan for more items (Potentially Dangerous Applications etc) and also may be scanning more data?

    Cheers :D

I'm talking two weeks ago (25 minutes) versus a couple days ago (75 minutes).

Nothing has changed on my system, same amount of data and apps installed.

My deep scans are the same as always - between 20 and 30 mins.

I reinstalled Nod32 & my 20 minutes or so scan now took 46 minutes...I'm should mention I'm running this on my wife's laptop which actually has only 7 gigs used instead of mine at 12gigs...so I was curious what had chged in the newer version...

Sometimes it takes longer to scan because it scans System Volume Information folder which constantly grows with every restore point if your System Restore service is turned on. I disable the service and it's back to 20 min. scan.

it must be something local to the OP's machine - my scans around the 20th last month were 4400 seconds, and last night it was 4300 seconds - so yes, I'm seeing scans around 75 minutes, but mine appear to have been that long for as long back as I have logs.
