    I used the true image to clone my XP pro os drive to a larger drive. I then reconnected the secondary drive that was in the machine prior to my cloning the master but the "my computer" doesn't recognise it as being there.
    The device manager says it is there along with the bios. I have checked the jumpers on both drives along with the cable to no avail.
    Can someone inform me on how to get the slave drive to be recognised by the master so that I can assess my present data on that drive.
    I do not wish to reformat the drive.

    Hello cookies_papa,

    Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

    Please make sure that you use the latest build of the respective version of Acronis True Image which is available at: http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/support/updates/

    To get access to updates you should create an account at:
    http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/my/
    then log in and use your serial number to register your software.

    Please note that in order to clone your Windows system to different hardware, you should first prepare Windows using Microsoft System Preparation Tool (sysprep). Please take a look at this FAQ article.

    Please create the bootable rescue media with Acronis True Image, boot your computer from it and try to clone your hard drives once again.

    Please note that we recommend you to unplug one of the hard drives right after the disk cloning process has been finished, since keeping both original and cloned hard drives connected might cause different boot or drive letter assignment problems.

    If the problem still persists, please create Acronis Report in the way described below:

    - Download and run Acronis Report Utility;
    - Select the "Create Bootable Floppy" option;
    - Insert a blank floppy disk in the A: drive and proceed with creation of the bootable floppy;
    - Boot the computer from this diskette and wait for report creation process to finish;
    - Collect the report file from the floppy.

    Please keep both source and destination hard drives connected while creating Acronis Report.

    Please create an account, then log in and submit a request for technical support. Attach all the collected files and information to your request along with the step-by-step description of the actions taken before the problem appears and the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with the solution.

    Thank you.
