Mouse problem in Rescue Mode

Hello,

I have changed my mouse yesterday from a cheap simple optical DELL mouse to a new (expensive) Logitech G5 Laser Mouse.

But now I have no mouse control anymore in Rescue Mode of the actual build of TI 9.

The strange is, that I HAVE mouse control in the screen where I have to choose between the modes of TI9-Rescue (safe mode or full mode).
After that, when TI has loaded the Linux-Mode, I loose mouse control.

When I plug in my old mouse, it works. But I want to use my new mouse in the Rescue mode, too.

For information: The G5 installs two drivers in windows:

1. The usual mouse driver, the USB-HID-driver

2. an other driver listed in the the category "USB-Controller" called in German "USB-Verbundgerät" (sorry, but I can't translate this well, because I don't know the sense of it, "verbund" can have two meanings,

first possibility: USB-groupdevice
second possibility: USB-connectiondevice


Maybe this driver is missing in the Linux-mode?

 

What works for me is to get to first screen and hit F11. Then when you get to enter the command, type

quiet usbmouse=off

The quiet should already be there.

 

The fact of the matter is that Linux is still a long way from Windows' maturity with device drivers!

I experience similar problems with my Wireless MS Explorer mouse when running the Boot CD.

I had the same problem with my Dell computer but Technical support did resolve the issue...

usbmouse=off did work for me.

I tried one other thing and that was to use different usb ports for the keyboard and mouse. This had some success in that with some combinations, both keyboard and mouse were frozen, while with others the keyboard was ok. I have no idea the reason for this? I would have thought that all usb ports should be the same, yet I found some differences when using the ATI rescue disk...
