I hesitate to sugest this as no man likes the efficacy of his equipment to be questioned.....But have you run all the normal housekeeping routines on your machine and have you examined the various performance logs?
What error reports are generated as a result of your Lockups? Have you been through the details in Systems Information looking for problems and conflicts?

No problem. Question away. Admittedly, I'm not as technical as I'd like - no use pretending.

As for housekeeping routines, I've run scandisk and run defrag regularly (Diskeeper), but do not have it set to run automatically. And no, I have not yet checked logs for errors (other than Acronis). Good suggestion. If you would provide some things to do/places to look, I'd appreciate it. (Again, Windows 98SE. Not having any problems with any other programs.) I'm away from my PC now and will be able to pursue this in the morning (including System Information).

    Xpilot,

I checked System Information, but nothing seemed obvious (no conflicts reported, etc.). Acronis replied to my ticket - #533528 - and just asked me to send *the digital picture showing BSOD*. I wrote back and asked what a BSOD was. Any other places I can check for logs (Windows 98SE)?
