Outlook 2003 slow to open word attachments

Hi

I have noticed that Word Attachments open very very slowly from within Outlook. Has anyone noticed this as well? If yes, is it related to NOD32 scanning? If so, is there a way to improve the speed?

I have noticed this as well but it doesn't seem to be for all documents. I put it down to Outlook seemingly hogging resources when sending / receiving. It brings my system to a crawl.

This is related to win98. NOD is O.K.

 

I have XP pro!

as far as I remember it didn't happen with OL2002 and I did start to use NOD32 at the same time as OL2003

 

XP Pro here as well. Has nothing to do with Win98. But... we use Norton Corporate at my office... same thing happens there. My guess is that it's Outlook 2K3 or Office.
