    hello guys

well suddenly today, out of nowhere, a wierd problem cropped up, suddenly some random files in my computer are highlighted in blue, as can be seen in the attached files. I dont even know where to begin :(

I recently uninstalled KAV and installed avast. These files highlighted in blue are so random, some of them I havent even looked at in months, picture files, wma files, ini files, etc.

    Please help. Thanks.

In XP (I dunno about other systems), blue entries in Explorer (and possibly elsewhere) are compressed files. Typically you can set the drive up so it automatically compresses any files that haven't been accessed in x-many days.

    thanks Mike,

yes, they were compressed files. I had to go to folder options and uncheck the option which said "show the compressed files in color."

thx for replying. at least someone did. :thumb:
