People have been saying that this software uses very little system resource. Is there a comparison chart somewhere that lists all of the AV products and their system resource usage? And the same with firewalls and anti spyware programs? Thanks.

Thanks. What about the firewall and anti spyware programs? Is there a comparison chart for them? Like if you use nod and saved some ram but had a hogging firewall and that just cancels out the advantage given by nod.

i uses Mcafee Personal Firewall v7.1.113 it has also advanced heuristics if a unknown virus skip from nod32.Mcafee Personal Firewall block it from conneting to server
and for anti-spyware i use Scan Spyware v3.8(has large database, fast scanning and no real-time scanning)
i think i have 70 persent safe from viruses and spyware

Are there some firewalls that are known for small resource usage? And these are the ram usage, what about the processor usage? And how good is the anti spyware function of nod32?

Interesting that NOD32 has the Lowest Resource Utilization of the seven AV products on their chart and Symantec was next..:D

On my Dell D800 with 1536MB RAM, WinXP's Task Manager Processes:

AntiVir's avguard reports 20-21MB RAM with all 'Heuristics' enabled for continous scan watch.

    ZoneAlarm 6.1.744 shows 3.6MB for zlclient.exe and 10MB for ZCfgSvc.exe.

Nope we dont have a chart. You could use Process Explorer from sysinternal to see the resources usage of an AV.

Remember some AV have many process...... like Norton have up to 6 process running at the same time ><

You better install the particular AV of your interest on your own system and measure the "system drag". Since AV's beheviour different on every computer such tests would be useless anyway.

Nope. But i have pretty much tested them all on my pc already. Just search on the forum for "Resources Usage" and should give you lot of results.

Hi: I have a question that you all can help me out with.I have a second Pc that is running Win 98SE and has 384mb of ram and a 333mhz. My question is I am currently using AVG and Counter Spy (VS 1.0.29) because 1.5 is too much of a resource hog.
    Also using ZA 4.5 free.
I would like to know if a CA AV along with Spysweeper and same free ZA would use less resources and put less items in startup.
I am not the only user of this Pc so I would want these items to load at start up.
My Counter Spy subscription is up soon so I was thinking of making the switch and My DSL company offers CA's AV.
I also use Adaware and Spybot 1.4.
    Any help would be appreciated.
