my pc wont let me access the task manager

my pc wont let me access the task manager untill i stop a few processes which are svchost.exe the only way i can access my processes are through system mechanic, also there is a file called 'complete' that isnt there as such, it doesnt have a physical appearance, its under 'c:/documents and settings/drew/complete' but you cant see the file named 'complete' you have to physically type the file destination in the address bar i stumbled on this by accident, but something is wrong it tried to start up the 'microsoft office suite setup' what could be causing this how do i solve this problem?

i removed the smitfraud ages ago and it still happened, will its effects still occur if smitfraud is removed?

 

If it wasn't totally cleaned out, you may still have issues. I would try the tips/cleaning proposed at the link I referenced, and see if that helps you.
