    Hi Primrose,

I also like the tests there, they did a great job of identifying some key factors in YOUR security. I would have liked to see it go further, and test newly released trojans only 3-7 days after release. I know I wouldn't like a possible trojan sitting on my machine for 3 MONTHS !? A month is shocking enough but 3 months.. a trojan user could watch your banking, emails, where you surf.. they would almost be in your head in a month. 3 months is somewhat scary..

TDS best mainly because the huge data base they keep they were almost there from the very first trojan and been collecting them like one colects base ball cards lol

it is imposiable to find a data base that big

simply because no one collected these guys puposely till way later in the game but by then tolate

its like playing catch up and everydat there like 50 new trojans lol

also the software is awsome and till this day nothing come close to tds but they are starting to catch up and i think thats why they got tds 4 pro to knock dowen competion for another 5 years

    Hello nota geek

We just wanted to share some info on layering as found on our test computer:

    Firewall=Outpost
    Ant-Virus=NOD32
    Anti-Trojan=TDS3
    Anti-Worm=WormGuard
    Registry Protection=RegistryProt
    Application Monitor=WinPatrol
    Program Monitor=System Safety Monitor
    Browser & File Protection=Spybot Resident
    etc.

We are not paranoid but we think you will find others with heavy defences also. Either you are secure or not. The best anti-virus program may miss a trojan and the best browser protection most probably will miss worms. So...the choice is yours. Get layered protection or be vulnerable.

    Best wishes.

From my personal testing and the use of every product on the list, the results from that test show real world detection with the exception of Tauscan. Tauscan would probably be right under McAfee.
