    Hi Snowbound,

If Firstdefense doesn't work on your system you can always try Rollback Rx at :
    http://www.horizondatasys.com/product_page.html?page_id=89

It is now one piece of software that I wouldn't be without anymore and it seems a lot better than Firstdefense in almost all aspects...

    Best regards,
    Atomas31

    Folks,

This is the Leapfrog Software forum. If you wish to discuss/recommend applications provided by other vendors, the Software & Services forum is the place for that.

    Thanks in advance.

    Sorry Blue!
I know that this is the leapfrog software forum but I just wanted to give snowbound and alternative that could work for him... I'll try to behave myself next time ;-)

    Hi Snowbound,

Personnally, I was also unable to install FirstDefense because my system is in French but I have to admit that FirstDefense look really amazing... by it's own. No doubt about that :)
My question is more : how amazing is it compare to other similar products?

    Best regards,
    Atomas31

I have used several other products that do something similiar but I won't mention them by name so we won't get into a comparision thread. The reason I prefer FDISR over other products is that it works and works right everytime without the hassle most of the others require. It just rocks :D

    Hi Bigc73542,

I see, what make FirstDefense Amazing is the fact that it is doing what it is suppose to do! Is that right?

    Best regards,

Correct, it does what it is supposed to do. it is the first software program I have used in several decades that does really work as advertised.;)

I don't have any apps on my comp that don't work. But all apps have some kind of issues regardless what they are, but what i am saying is that FDISR so far has not shown any issues yet. It works just like advertised without exception.

Reliability has to be the most important quality of any recovery program, and unfortunately we hear of too many issues with the other programs ... FD simply works.

    Hi Acadia,

I totally agree with you when you say that reliability has to be the most important quality of any recovery program... but FD must have some issues too or other wise what is the purpose of this forum if not help people to resolve issues they might have with FDo_O

    Best regards,

    Hi bigc73542,

I don't personnally know any issue with FD since for me, the biggest issue of FD is the fact that you can not install it on system other than english system :)

But if you read the thread on this forum I am sure you will find some... I don't want to go on a debate but I just want to say that it doesn't seem to work well for everyone, like any other softwares for that matter! Otherwise, I am sure that FD is very good and amazing when it works on your system ;-)

I also want to say that I have nothing against Firstdefense and if it would have worked on my system, I would probably own it and believe, like everyone here, that it is a very amazing software!

    Best regards,
    Atomas31

FD can be a little confusing for new users; this is where they can learn. Plus, no software program is perfect, no, not even FD or Rollback. Actually I did have a problem with FD a year ago, but it was not FD's fault; KAV's 5.0 use of the Alternate Data Stream hosed the Master Boot Record, which FD needs to do its magic. FD could still perform all of its magic, but the boot to other Snapshots feature was limited to only the pre-boot screen. Thru Wilders I got the help that I needed to fix the MBR and bring FD back to full functionality.

If anyone can name me a software program with will NEVER need a support forum, or tech support of any kind, I WILL PURCHASE IT.

    Amen to that!
I believe that I would also buy any software that is so amazing that it has no issues or never need any technical support ;-)

Atomas, my systems is in Italian so I wrote a mail to support@leapfrogsoftware.com. This is the reply:

I can't change to English because my OS is only Italian but I try to install FirstDefense and seems to go well: install went ok, secondary snapshot went ok. Now I must test if it works well.
Why don't you try to install it? Maybe it works also for French.

    Hi Ale,

Thank you for sharing with us your experience, personnally here's the answer I received from Raxco after asking about installing on a French system :

Removed private email contents - Ron

That is one of the reason why I didn't bother try to install FD... and instead I have go with a competitor product that I really like :)

    Best regards,
