Can someone out there give me some pointers on the prescribed method to recover a windows 2000 server that has two (2) ide hard drives that are mirrored with builtin software raid/dynamic disks. There is a C and D partition on the drive. I'm using TI Server for windows version 8. Any tips, tricks or pointers would be appreciated. When I boot from the Acronis boot CD it shows the drives and they are greyed out and a message underneath says that they are unsupported. All I see is my USB drive where the tib is stored.
This is an active directory domain controller, the only one in the domain and let's presume that it is unbootable, with a blue screen that says "inaccessable boot device".
    TIA

Dynamic Disks are not supportet by the rescue media. So the easiest way would be to delete the contents of one disk (you still have the mirror), recover the usb-tib file to a basic disk partition and boot from the recovered image. Once Windows is up and running you can convert the partition to a dynamic disk again and rebuild your mirror.

Bought to new 160 gig hard drives and was able to recover without any problem (although it took quite awhile) both partitions from the "Dynamic Disk Software Mirror Raid 1" .tib file on the external USB. Since this computer was the sole activie directory domain controller in a small government office in Illinois I think they got their moneys worth out of Acronis even if they never have to use it again. Finished late Sunday had the server back in the office up and running by 8:00 Monday morning.
Thanks again for your comments and help
