Been using Spywareguard for quite some time now and haven't noticed any problems with the program until recently. Would turn off PC, get to the windows screen telling me windows is shutting down, and then would hang for about 4-5 minutes before finally shutting down.

Through the process of elimination, Spywareguard was the culprit. If I have it running and then manually stop spywareguard by way of Task Manager, before shutting down, my PC still hangs. If I don't initially start and use the program at all, shutdown only takes several seconds.

Went ahead and downloaded 2.2, same problem. Apparently, Spywareguard is still using the registry during shutdown, even if I manually stop the program.

Could be some kind of conflict with other programs I run, NOD32, Ewido (paid version), Kerio4 firewall (paid version), spywareblaster, teatimer.

Would like to know if anyone else has had this problem with SG.

Guess I have enough protection without using SG.

My sincere appologies to the developers of Spywareguard.

After a bit more testing, with a program called Regmon, which shows the registry in real time, Spywareguard was not the app. causing my PC to hang on shutdown.

I am using Spybot 1.4 and teatimer, even after manually being shut down, still showed in Regmon that it continued to be active in the registry. This seems to be an intermittent problem. After I quit using Spywareguard, shut down seem to go fine for about 3 times, then it would hang again.

This is when I continued my investigation using Regmon, which as I stated previously, showed Teatimer would not give up the ghost in the registry, even after manual stopping of the program.

I have read there a few bugs in Spybot 1.4, such as the buttons not being in full view. Maybe the shutdown thing is another.

I'm happy to have Spywareguard back in my arsenel. Don't miss teatimer at all.

This'll learn me to jump to conclusions when diagnosing a problem!
