how can I get sound recorder to record more than 60 seconds?

I'm wondering how I can get sound recorder to record unlimited music, instead of stopping everytime 60 seconds has passed because I find it the most useful tool provided by microsoft.. the reason being.. I record music and I have to press the little record button, or press right before it passes 60 seconds so it will continue to record, but it will cut parts of the music off anyways.. so How can I remove the 60 second barrier?

I do have audacity, but the only reason I dont use it because it makes fuzzy/crackling noises when I record.. So I like soundrecorder for recording..

 

We didn't have the luxury of folks putting words and pics on the net years back when I was splicing....so instead of explaining in my words what I use to do I'll let you read something very similar with pictures.

Whereas this individual stopped it just before the end of the 60 second recording....We always just let it go the whole 60 seconds and then hit record again for another 60 seconds....forever how many minutes we wanted. We then saved that .wav file and used it as a template to record our longer songs. Great for back when We had LP's

He he, I used to do these similar little tricks back on windows 98, I must of forgot about it!!!
