    Support folks ...

I'm trying to image a buildout of our new DELL GX520 which only comes with a USB port. The typical PS/2 is not available for the legacy keyboard. When I attempt to connect to a network PC ( which requires a username/password) I can not input anything.

Do you guys have an angle for the USB only computers?

    Regards from Indianapolis, IN USA

i could approve this usb problem with latest ti 9-2337 german rescue cd on all our brand new optiplex gx520mt and our gx620mt too!

only "advantage" on gx620mt is, that there i could use the both ps2-ports on the back - if i got an old ps2-keyboard and an old ps2-mouse...

i tested on gx520mt only usb-keyboard, with the usb-mouse disconnected: usb-keyboard was not functional (on booting with this ti 9-2337 german rescue cd i could see that there were shortly flicker the keyboard leds ...and then they were going out); on trying to push the num-key a few times (if it starts the green led), there were nothing effect.

i tested on gx620mt with usb mouse and ps2-keyboard: keyboard and mouse didn't work.

as i remember correct, on testing with the ti 8-937 german rescue-cd (trial) a few months ago on optiplex gx280mt and optiplex gx520mt this boot-cd does functioned quite proper with usb mouse and keyboard.

if same machine boots one time on an operating system like windows xp and all usb (hid-)devices work totally correct and then, next time, when the same machine is - without any bios-changes - booting with the acronis rescue cd and there are this (non-)effects on one or two usb input-devices, there is only one explanation: booting cd with linux-os must be the reason for this not functional hardware. as i know, the so called legacy usb support is on the dell optiplex gx280, gx520 and gx620 by default set to "on" in bios - at least all our optiplex were delivered from dell with enabled usb legacy support bios-settings.
