    I'm using Acronis 6.0.

For some reason, I can't see the second IDE hard drive, which is where the image for C: is stored. It won't fit on a DVD (4.9 gig).

How can I restore this image?

    Hello pablop,

Thank you for using Acronis Disk Backup Software.

If you were trying to access your hard drive from Acronis True Image 6.0 in Windows then please download the latest version of Acronis drivers, install it with disabled logging and see if the problem still persists.

If the problem persists then please let us know the exact model of your hard drive where the image is stored.

Unfortunately, we are no longer able to provide technical support to customers who are using Acronis True Image 6.0 because we have released a new version and do not develop the old one anymore. That is why we cannot help you if the issue has happened with Acronis Bootable Rescue Media.

However, you may try 15 day free trial version of Acronis True Image 9.0.

If you would like to purchase the full version of Acronis True Image 9.0 then we can offer you an upgrade to it which is already a discounted product. Please visit Acronis online store to purchase the upgrade.

    Thank you.

Will acronis 9 read and restore the image file created under 6.0?

Will the trial version of acronis 9 be fully functional?

The problem still persists. I can get the bios and XP to recognize this drive (Western Digital WD1200) in multiple positions with various jumper pin settings.

    Primary Slave
Secondary Master (with jumper, with no jumper)
Secondary Slave (with jumper, with no jumper)

Booting into Acronis (from a cd or from Windows after Acronis recommends it) the drive is never recognized.

    Hello pablop,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

Yes, Acronis True Image 9.0 can read and restore the image created by Acronis True Image 6.0.

Please be aware that the trial version has the following limitations:

    - Windows: all functions available, 15-days trial period;
    - Bootable media: Recovery feature available only.

Please download the latest version of Acronis drivers once again, install it with disabled logging and see if the problem still persists in Windows.

If the problem still persists then enable logging by running the Acronis drivers installation package once again, reproduce the problem and collect the c:\snapapi.log file.

Please also boot your computer from the Acronis True Image rescue disc and press F11 key when the selection screen appears. After you get the "Linux kernel command line" prompt, please modify it in the following way:

quiet acpi=off noapic , click on the OK button and choose "Full Version".

If the problem still persists in rescue mode, please create Acronis Report and Linux system information (sysinfo.txt) as it is described in Acronis Help Post.

Please create an account, then log in and submit a request for technical support. Attach all the collected files and information to your request along with the step-by-step description of the actions taken before the problem appears and the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with the solution.

    Thank you.
