    We want to install a new OS on a new hard drive. The manual says to select OS>New>CD from the menu, but all we see is OS>New>Floppy. What do we have to do to install a OS from a CD? o_O

    Accept to install from floppy. Reboot to begin the install. It will fail.

    Put the CD in the drive, reboot and the install will begin.

    That has been my experience anyhow.

    Hello AngelArs and mrtee,

    Thank you for choosing Acronis Partition and Disk Managing Software.

    Please accept my apologies for the delay with the response.

    Actually, you are not exactly right. Let me mention that Acronis Disk Director Suite 10.0 User's Guide does not say to select OS->New->CD if you wish to install a new operating system from a CD. Please refer to the section 8.2.4 of Acronis Disk Director Suite 10.0 User's Guide on this matter.

    Please follow these instructions:
    - insert an operating system installation CD;
    - reboot you PC;
    - boot into Acronis OS Selector;
    - choose the appropriate CD item in the Operating systems area (main dialog) of Acronis OS Selector.

    This will boot your computer from this operating system installation CD. You can also change the boot sequence in the BIOS to boot first from the CD and it will have the same result.

    If you have any further questions please feel free to ask.

    Thank you.
