    I installed SpyBlaster 2.5.3 and i have a problem:
I tried the "check for updates" function and I got an Error Downloading File Message. It said: The server returned the following unexpected response: " (no response was listed). I click OK and it hang-up, and i have to close manually the Update Window. Then It say "Update succesfully, updating database...". The only thing it do is to clear the old database (4/4/03) present at installation.
I reinstalled the program but update does work, never; i Tried system connectione e direct connection methods, with and without Alternative Download method.
    I have Windows Xp Pro.

How i can solve the problem??

    Thanks!!!

    Hi Alexius,

Seems like the problem isn't on your side; this points to a server problem. Due to time zones, it might take some hours before the software developper will be over here again.

Please have some patience in the meanwhile - thanks in advance.

    regards.

Well I can't reproduce this error now, so perhaps any problems have blown over?

Let me know if you still experience problems updating.

    Hi Guys

I haven't been able to update for the past 3 days. o_O

After trying "Check for updates", i get "Update downloaded successfully! Loading new definitions...", but there no new definitions.

I go back to "Check for updates", and it offers the same definitions for download, and the same pattern is repeated as explained above.

I close the application, & when I reopen everything is blank: Under "Database info" there is nothing for "Date" or "Items", & the "SpywareBlaster Database" window is empty.

I also am unable to liveupdate SpywareGuard. I get "Error Downloading Updates". "There was an error downloading updates. The last working definitions have been loaded form backups"

    thx

The one updates server was down - my apologies for the issues.

Please give it a try one more time now - if that doesn't work, could you try checking the "Alternative Download Method" item in the Settings area of the program?

    TIA.

Am I the only one having this problem?? o_O

Is there an alternative to liveupdate?

I still can't duplicate this error with SpywareGuard LiveUpdate ... :doubt:

I'll try building a manual update exe for SpywareGuard, that will install the latest definitions, when I get time. I'll post further details in this thread once I've completed it.

I've been getting the same error message for the past 2 weeks. Must have tried liveupdate 25 times.

It just dawned on me that my Proxomitron might be a factor.

I put Prox on bypass and liveupdate worked....June 7 updates.

    Sheeeesh :p

Here's the odd thing. Just for kicks I took Prox off bypass & again tested the Spywareguard liveupdate.

First time it came back that the server may be busy. Tried once more and it came back "No updates available, you have the latest, etc."

In other words, no more error messages.

So I guess I can't actually say for sure Prox was responsible or not, but it is quite a coincidence.

Weird!! But if you could pass along the liveupdate address, I'd still like to place it in my Prox bypass list.

    Rgds
