I would love to see X64 support also and the ability to include the Acronis boot disc environment when backing up directly to a DVD.

A way that you can get a PC to automatically reboot after completing a disk image that is ran from the recovery boot disk would be very useful.

This would be an excellant feature and I'm surprised it's not already included.

    Regards

Just started using ATI and find it pretty well-designed. Hope it will be there for me when I need it!

However, I REALLY would like the ability to MIRROR some files rather than create .TIB files. That way, I could easily check the files on occasion to see if they are safe and uncorrupted.

Maybe I'm missing something but I don't see that capability here. Even when compression is turned off, I can only make .TIB files.

    Many thanks!

I urgently need the ability to mount images on SCSI tape, for restoring of single files from a backup tape.

Without this feature, I need to use other backup software in parallel, which is not practicable for daily backup routines.

I'll also echo the X64 support. Those of us playing on the Windows cutting edge are the most likely to get cut, after all, and some disk imaging & recovery tools are an absolute must.

Would love to see an email notification feature, so i can see when each of our pcs finished the scheduled imaging task - feature was implemented in Acronis True Image 8.0 Corporate Workstation, Acronis True Image 8.0 Server for Windows and Acronis True Image 8.0 Enterprise Server for Windows.

When saving verified images to a Secure Zone not only is the new image verified but also all the images in the Zone are re-verifed. This seems somewhat over the top as verified images in the Secure Zone are in one of the safest places they can be so why waste resourses verifying them again and again.
My simple example is six images in the Secure Zone each, in it's lifetime, gets verified six times. Once would be sufficient.

I would like to see the mbr overwritten during disk clone or image restore. This would fix problems with drives that have been Identified in the windows registry of the original source disk,
ie drive is identified by a drive letter/boot record which is other than the original source drive so that you can't boot to it, ntldr errors etc...

    1. Not to have the C: drive already ticked. I do not have a OS there and get fed up having to untick it each time.

    2. When doing automatic backups the ability to delete a previous one or better still to be able to choose if you want to leave one or two previous ones before it starts deleting.

    3. The ability to export your Acronis settings so that if you want to set it up on another OS that you do not have to go through it all again.

I was able to successfully make an image with a TI8 boot CD on an X64 machine. I saved it to an external USB drive. I then trashed the drive and booted from the CD. I successfully restored the image file, rebooted from the HDD and back to where I started.

Make yourself a TI8 boot CD and you can do backups and restores (at least at the partition level).

Why is this feature "Ability to burn images directly to DVD's and make them bootable" not implemented in your product? - feature has been already requested

Have an option in the rescue media builder to make an ISO image, like Disk Director 10 does, instead of having to write to a CD/CDRW, or DVD all the time. - feature has been already requested

I also would like the ability to create dynamic target image file names such as x:\%date%%time%. A few different symbolic options would be nice. This proposed feature would be of great assistance on reoccuring scheduled backup jobs. Name resolution should happen at job execution time.

What would be really great is the ability to use any environment variiables that might be set by a pre processing command file.

I want to have an option to make an image of the MBR or to include the MBR in all cases (for example when you make only an image of C without D). It should be choosable like a partition when you select the partitions you want to image.

Secure Zone should be safer! It shouldn't be detected by a partition-manager.
Why it must be a partition which has an entry in the partition-table?
TI should make his own partition-table stored in a program file or Rescue CD, so that only TI can detect the Secure Zone.
Each other application would detect it as "unallocated space". If the partition-table is destroied (i had this two times), you could use the TI partition-table to redetect the Secure Zone and you could restore the other partitions!

Re: Wish list: TI9 needs ENCRYPTION

The password feature is useful but as we often make image backups to external hard disks, it would only hamper a casual snooper. TI9 now needs some sort of encryption (even 56-bit is better than nothing!) to stop the saved images falling into the wrong hands.

BTW, the current build of TI9 now works perfectly for me on both laptop and desktop.
