Pop-up on my desktop - "Virus signature update file has not been digitally signed. Do you wish to apply this update anyway?"

    Should I accept or not.

The update I got manually from the NOD32 control center. At first I got the "not digitally signed" from an automatic update, clicked the "no" button. Decided to go for a manual update, got the same message, clicked "no" would not accept. Every time I go manual update - same message. The update was today 1-20-06. Could it be something in NOD or my system that just isn't picking up the signature? I know strange things do happen.:cautious:

Well I, in my quickness, actually did choose to press 'yes'. I haven't been confronted with any strange things yet. I thought something like "hey, if Eset send it, it's probably ok". We'll see.

If it's not digitally signed then it is quite likely NOT from ESET...
In the update module, what items do you have in the list of servers you can choose to update from - in addition to 'choose automatically'?

    The following:
www.nod32.com (this is the options I use)
    www.eset.sk
    www.esetsoftware.com
    D:\nod_upd\
    E:\nod_upd\
    G:\nod_upd\
    H:\nod_upd\
    I:\nod_upd\

I also just filled in a support-form on their site. Let's see what it brings.

You must be using an obsolete version of NOD32. The very first option in the drop-down server selection menu should read "Choose automatically" and the server www.esetsoftware.com was also removed from the list a long time ago.

    Hey marcos,

the update def. files are digitally signed, but why not the app itself?

Why the execute files and driver files of NOD32 aren't digitally signed?

I think this would be an improvement :p

    thx and best regards,

This would be a temporary event which might happen , Are you still getting it ? Open NOD32's Control Center -> Update and press Update now ;)
