i would love to install a linux distro
i'm new , it will be my first time
i would love to install a similar MAC os ? is there one like mac os?

 

OpenSuse 10 works fine.. But not like Mac Os..
If you like advanture there is hacked PC version of Mac Os.. You can try that.

 

can u tell me more about this version name, if i can download it?

There are no MacOS X alike Linux Distro's. If you really want to use linux (this means you're willing to invest some time to learn) you should try Ubuntu or (Open-)SUSE.

 

i say this bacause at work i use mac os , and i would like to learn at home, maybe using a mac os for my pc

If you want to get a feel for Linux on your Windows PC, you could try VM Ware's free VMWare Player:

Into this you can load a Ubuntu browser appliance, which will give you a taste of Linux. There are some other virtual machines available, as well.

A fun toy. One touted as a security feature -- do your risky browsing in the Ubuntu browser appliance, which is isolated from your host OS.

Caveat: Do not take this as a highly knowledgeable endorsement here. I am a relative newbie to this all and am still in the babe-in-the-woods-with-a-new-toy stage. Fun, yes, most definitely. Secure?
