    Hi there,

I've got ICS on my home network and currently have UPnP enabled to allow the client computers to control the connection.

I want to disable the UPnP for security purposes but only if there is an alternative way for the machines on my network to control the internet connection.

Any such programs?, or should I just stop using ICS and get some other program to share the internet?

What do you mean control the connection? I have a lan and the client machine is XP with UPnP is disabled and the ICS works fine.
    What's to control?

You do not need UPnP for that.
UPnP in XP was installed to allow your computer to talk to the toaster or the refrigerator. Very few people have any need for UPnP and it is a security risk.
I suggest you go here, to grc and download Steves tool for disabling it. If you ever need it you can use the same tool to enable it back.
