Tiny Desktop Personal Firewall 2005/Proxies

Specifically to TDPF2005 or even generally how can we surf by proxies, since installing TDPF2005 surfing by proxy hasn't worked. Any Ideas? Thank you in advance

You need to make rules to allow the traffic to the specific ports (and/or IP addresses) of local or remote proxy servers. You can only use Tiny to block or allow such access. You can not expect Tiny to work as a proxy management software such as Multiproxy, ProxySwitcher, or whatever.

 

Are there any good user guide/similar info out there for TDPF05?

The thread is now taking a turn to a different topic. I've tired disabling TDPF05 and restarting XP( gotta get Linux soon). Went with ZA and WinXP firewall, without success.

Ghost Surf didn't stop woking until I shutdown Zone Alarm and installed TDPF05 and the original TPF to try out. I un TPF, figured the new one was a lot better. TPF seemed VERY simple, but effective(a bit of a guess).

At best I get a few pages then "unable to connect to proxy"(opera8.51)

 

Try to change any restrictive rules from "ignore" to "log", and then look at the logs in activity monitor. This will give you the figure what connections were refused. I believe you need to add lookback rules for progs that connect by proxies (allow TCP out for 127.0.0:0)

yes but default rules allow loopback traffic.

It would also be helpful if you could post your network rules.

It wouldn't be of any help since I use no proxy and my rules are more restrictive than the default ones. I remember having tried proximitron and Tor once, at it worked with Tiny. Unfortunately I have not saved these old configs. Try reading logs to find out what's going on. Cheers.

For Proximitron ,u have to make rules to allow it to access the net, and make rules to allow browsers to access port 8080, if my memory serves me correct. Good luck
