    Good evening to all!

    I have recently scanned my oc (win xp sp2 with all recent updates) wi th scanspyware (antispyware programme) which discovered two registry entries as Lorexp worm and Backdoor IRC.cont. I have zonealamr pro installed and nod32 antivirus. No other antispyware application I have tried recognises them nor does nod32,

    Any ideas; Could it be false alarms;

    Does scanspyware give a file or registry location of what it found ?

    I personally have not installed that program but according to the list of Rogue/Suspect Anti-Spyware Products & Web Sites....you might want to re-consider using that program as a basis for checking your Security\Privacy.

    This program is on the black list - and known for false postives. You would be better off removing this program from your system and installing a trustworthy alternative.

    regards,

    Ι want first of all to thank all of you for the replies!

    Budda It does give a registry location:

    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft Windows\Currentversion\Run

    After your suggestion I will no longer consider important the suggestions of this programme!

    Even tho I would definetly not put faith in what that program found....I am still troubled in regards to what registry location it found something.

    Did it also flag a certain executable file in that Run key ?

    No, unfortunately no more info!

    I have used adware, spybot, spysweeper, pestpatrol and nod32 and they found nothing. As mentioned I also update Windows immediately after the new releases appear....

    I'd personally chalk it up as a False alarm given those results. I'd also suggest you consider sticking with Trustworthy Anti-Spyware Products and definetly ask around before installing any other programs. There are unfortunately hundreds ? of cleaners that ain't worth the band-width to download ready to prey on un-suspecting users :ouch:
