Can anyone tell me how to exclude a cooking from being cleaned. You could uncheck a box in Version 7 to do this and it keep that setting but this option was removed in Version 8. I expected it to be reinstated in version 9 but it's just the same.

To recap how can I do this.

I have 100 cookies in my folder Privacy Expert does not show them in alpha order.

I have a cookie called Fred.txt I want to keep every time I do a clean up but delete the other 99.

How do I exclude Fred.txt from ever being wiped without having to uncheck it in the cookie cleaning box every time?

    Anyone help?

PS it's the same for a file my AV put in the temp folder.

I was trying to do the same but could not find any way to achieve it with Acronis Privacy Suite. There is an option to enter a web address and create a 'mask' but I could not figure out how it works. This task is easily achievable with other sofware (Symantec or free CCleaner) where you can simply chose from the list which cookies you want to keep or delete. I would like to know as weel if this is also achievable with Acronis software.

    That is my point.

You could do it in version 7 but they removed it in version 8 and it's still not reinstated in version 9

Perhaps it's time to look for another program that fits my needs better than this one.

    Hello newcastle surfer and vlodek,

Thank you for your interest in Acronis Internet Privacy and Antispyware Software.

Please accept my apologies for the delay with the response.

I'm afraid that the opportunity to select cookies that you wish to delete is not available in the current version of Acronis Privacy Expert Suite. But you can select what web pages you want to delete cookies from.

You are able to set a mask according to which web sites are chosen (please take a look at the section 4.3.3 of Acronis Privacy Expert Suite 9.0 User's Guide) or you can select web sites in the list that appears after scanning for cookies. That is how you can delete cookies only from some individual web sites.

If you have any further questions please feel free to ask.

    Thank you.

    Hello Kirill

Thank you for your reply. The manual clearly explains how to delete the files. What I want is the opposite.

    Take this example:

I have 100 cookies in my folder all with different filenames.

There is one file called myfile.txt that I want to keep (i.e, not delete) every time I do a clean up but delete everything else. What command do you use for that?

In version 7 you could do this easily. The feature was removed in version 8 and not restored in version 9. I've no idea why it was done.

The fact that you have to manually select files you want to keep every time you clean up is a real pain. Which is compounded by the fact they are not displayed in alpha order.

I found this aspect of PES so slow and cumbersome I never use it. I want to sort the cookies into alpbetical order so I can easily find one and cannot do that. I would like to use Shift-click or Ctrl-click so select a range of cookies but cannot do that either.

    Hello newcastle surfer and John,

I'm afraid it was decided that this feature would not be returned to the current version of Acronis Privacy Expert Suite.

The only possibility is to exclude the web addresses that you do not wish to delete cookies from in the list that appears after scanning each time you perform a clean-up.

    Thank you.

    Hello Kirill

    Thank you for your reply.

The function to be able to exclude files is a big thing for me. I'm now looking for a new clean up program and will definitely be looking much much closer in the future before I purchase any Acronis program or upgrade. I'm sure a lot of people will think the same.

    Hello newcastle surfer,

I have highlighted this question to our Development Team. I will certainly notify you if it will be decided to return this feature in one of future builds of Acronis Privacy Expert Suite 9.0.

    Thank you.

Could these be added. I don't think they were ever included?
    Thank you

    Hello John,

    Thank you for the suggestion.

I'm sorry. I forgot to notify you that I have forwarded your suggestion to our Development Team. It will probably be included in future builds/versions of the software.

    Thank you.

I have been asking for this feature to be returned since it was removed. It is not only useful for cookies you want to keep but for all other items that can be wiped. I just don't understand why acronis keeps removing useful features. It seems as if there is no communication at acronis as far as what works and is useful and what is not.

Kirill states that "It will probably be included in future builds/versions of the software". I would suggest not holding your breath, it will never happen.

    Hello dscrap,

Thank you for your interest in Acronis Software.

I'm afraid you have formed a wrong opinion. We always take our customers' enhancements into consideration and analyze them. If it is decided to return/include some features then it will be done certainly.

I'm afraid that the question under consideration is not answered yet. I'll certainly let you know about the decision as soon as it's available.

    Thank you.
