XP Pro x64. Been running it since April and it is the best MS client OS I have used period. More stable than XP Pro and definately more responsive on the same hardware. Too bad x64 security applications support has been almost non existent since its release. Truly a shame since there are now so many x64based computers out there now that could be running a far better version of XP.

Part of the problem there is the new kernel protection in X64, a lot of 32bit ring 0 cannot be simply upgraded to the new 64 bit kernel, not an easy task.

Polls should always have an other category. ;)

My favorite operating system is not listed as a choice. OS/2 (eCS), next favorite would be HP-UX, followed by Slackware, followed by Windows 2000. I could drop the HP-UX from the list as I have not worked with the OS since retiring but it still happens to be my favorite *nix system. It won't be much long until the W2K drops off the list. Though I may still run it as a virtual machine under OS/2 or Slackware.

OpenBSD (so the choice was Unix for me). Yes, it's terribly hostile to approach for anybody accustomed to Windows, probably even for somebody who has been using Linux for only a little while, but it's easily the most stable and reliable OS I've ever used. I started using it in 1998 (or 1997... can't really remember) and, well, I haven't had a single crash since that day. For some time it's been my only OS, but I do admit it can be a little too minimalistic for some things (you definitely won't play video games on this one).

I use WXP Home SP2. My PC is a little over 2 years old, and came with XP.
