Let me ask a potentially "dangerous" question here, and I'm not being a wiseguy setting out to provoke anyone or start a "best" anything type of discussion, so answer this question with a product name, period, if you'd all be so kind. It's my own informal poll, I guess, as I wonder about the mumbers involved among those who have an interest in security (as we obviously do here).

IF you could buy/use ONLY ONE-AV program, choosing among AVG, NOD32, DrWeb, or KAV - which app would be on your PC? I'm asking about where you'd put your money, not in using freebies, so this is about commecial apps only.

    * No discussions here, please - just a one line reply about the app you'd most trust to defend your PC with, esp. on today's net in our "global village" with dark forces gathering, arraying before us and against us, it would seem.

This looks more like a poll with 5 choices, including none and none would be my vote.
Because it's New Year : KAV would be my present. :)

KAV or NOD both have performed well for me, would not like to distinguish between the two :)

I am truly sorry that we let you down before. I am sure it is much easier for you to have discussion when people agree with you.

BTW I just got NIS 2006 for Christmas and I plan on using it.

USA still the best. But barely.
Edge to NOD32. But if the upcoming KAV6 is way much lower on resources. Probably KAV.

:D AVG "free" in conjunction with other security related programs, all of them "freeware". Oops, I long ago used a paid program, it is one of the reason I now only use "freeware". I know you said paid, but I couldn't help myself.

    Thanks
    Wildman

Most products start off as Betas(some that are even supposed to be the release version!:-you just don't know your "beta testing" those!)

i would chose nod32 because it runs so lightly, but i wouldnt hesitate to use KAV especially the 2006 beta.
