Well, the era of Tinysoftware like we new it is defenitely over....now let's call it CA. Maybe they won't have the bad habit of charging for beta software.

    Question about Tiny

Tiny was bought out by Computer Associates . Why does CA still use ZoneLabs Zone Alarm as their firewall ? Tiny is no longer available from Tiny . And CA purchased back in the summer . Now what ?
    Anybody ?
A great piece of work shot to Hell maybe . WHERE IS IT NOW ?

Thanks in advance for any help

    Re: Question about Tiny

I don't know where it is at the moment but, CA says it will remain a stand alone product.

    Re: Question about Tiny

I don't think CA can push tiny to the masses. It took me a while to configure tiny. And tiny needs to be customized, unlike ZA which can work out of the box. Think tiny is being used for their server apps. Anyway, who am I to know. Just lost a great product, though I believe that tiny's ex-owners really wanted out.

    Re: Question about Tiny

Many thanks guys . I REALLY appreciate the feedback .
JayTee . You are certainly correct . Zone Alarm is about as easy as it gets and Tiny is about as difficult as it gets .
If it is being offered as a stand alone , where is it ? I do not see where it is offered for download or purchase anywhere anymore . And CA should have it up for purchase by now . ( 7 months AFTER the aquasition ! )
Oh well . If you find it , let me know please . Thanks . And again , MANY thanks for your replies

Up until today I could reach www.tinysoftweare.com

But today it's impossible... I hope this doesn't mean the collapse of the best firewall the world has ever seen.

    Down again. :(

I hope this isn't some lame attempt by ca to see how much interest there is in there firewall. By making the web the go up and down to see how many people complain.

    thx-1138

It shouldn't be that hard for a company like tiny to get the web site up. It is a holiday week which could have something to do with it. Though IT people really don't get vacations and are always on call. Maybe they had a penetration, company gets sold, key people leave or get laid off, security lapses, you get nailed by some hacker just waiting for a golden opportunity like this.

Yes... it shows how good their firewall is... ;-)... more difficult to hack something one does not see...
