There are two different downloads for XP on the page. How do I know which one to download?

If you're after the enterprise features, download the admin version - if not, download the standard version.

unless you are running x64 windows, it would be the:
    "NOD32 for Windows NT/2000/2003/XP - Version 2.5 8.19 nentenst.exe Download".

I guess, maybe the x64 version is not x64 windows only.

I'm using windows xp sp2 32 bit version with NOD32 x64 2.51.8 (trial version), everything seems OK. And it seems the x64 can not only run on 32 bit XP, but also on NT/2000.

I am doing the same here. The 64 bit version includes drivers for both 64 and 32 bit systems so it will work for either.

I'm sorry, I thought you'd know whether you had a 64 bit machine or not.

In that case, there are 4 versions of NOD32 in English - the 64bit and 32bit standard and enterprise versions.

Although many people download and install the 64bit version on regular old 32bit windows, I don't recommend it - if you have a 32bit machine, download the 32bit standard version.

Why you don´t recommend installing the 64bit in a 32bit machine?

My current processor is 32 Bit. So, does that mean I shouldn't download the 64 Bit or as some say above, the 64 Bit works for both?

Actually, I really don't understand why there would be separate versions for 32 and 64 Bit if the 64 Bit version works on 32 Bit machines o_O

The 64 bit kernel driver won't work on a 32 bit system. However the 64 bit download version contains both the 64 bit kernel and the 32 bit kernel so which ever is needed on the system will be the one used. Perhaps HappyBytes can elaborate more.

If that is the case, then I still don't understand why the 32 bit version is needed.

I don't recommend relying on a backwards compatibility, which may, or may NOT continue to function - it's personal choice - I download the correct version for the machines I'm installing on - plus, the 32bit version is 0.5mb smaller in terms of the download size....

I guess, maybe ESET wants the 32 bit users to download 32 bit version, and 64 bit users to download 64 bit version. That's why they offer these two versions....

Okay, so the 64 bit version works for both, but I still don't undersatnd why they would offer the 32 bit version. The download difference appears quite insignificant,

That's odd because I accidentally downloaded the 64 bit version and I kept getting prompted for the correct password and username. Which I kept re-entering and no updates worked.
Whereas, when I downloaded the 32 bit, I installed and updated without any problems...weird. But hey, it's working and lovin' it now.
