    Mata,

the discount is available to all new licenses purchased for home/home-office use within the month of December, so in theory - yes- you can get the discount. Just go to one of the resellers who has the rebate form (av, us, etc) - print it out, along with your receipt (you did print your receipt at time of purchase right?) - mail them into Eset and wait for a check - although it does say the check will be in USD, I'm sure Canadian banks have that small issue all the time...

    kind regards

    Greg

You should contact the distributor from where you've bought it.

No one else can answer you this question here, because Marcos is from our HQ Support (he can help you with license problems and technical support questions but he does not negoshite or is selling licenses, nor is able to issue discounts) Thats usually up to the distributors how they handle this.

That's why i told you no we don't have this kind of discount. If you get it somehow well, thats fine, but if not i didn't promise anything what would not happen.

But honestly, please understand that we (Marcos and me) cannot help you with this matter or can assure something to you.

No, there's nothing wrong with that, just 12 more year or so years for me before I start using that S word. and it's not S _E _X. :D

Hi. I think this is in the spirit of this "discount thread", so I will go ahead and ask. Has ESET ever thought about a "switch to NOD" discount to lure customers from other companies? This would be the kind of thing where you would offer a switch over discount to those with some proof that they use one of your main competitor's antivirus programs. I have seen these kind of competitor rebates flying back and forth between Norton and McAfee. I am no businessman and don't know about the propriety of doing this, but it is something to think about.

    Just curious. Thanks.

Weighing in late on the subject matter here. But I'm a firm believer in the Senior Citizen discount. (Not a slam on NOD if you don't offer it).

But holy cow have you bought prescription medications lately? In the United States drug prices are absurd and Senior Citizens don't have insurance with "prescription plans". Seniors basically end up giving their pensions to Pfizer, Merck, and Glaxo.

it's kind of fair really - without the drug companies, we'd all die before 40 anyway... ;)

just joking - the cost of drugs in the USA is completely absurd - and being a transplanted Brit, I *have* seen both sides of the coin - and while I objected to my NI contributions while I was running a business in the UK (both employee and employer contributions) - I'd like to at least have the OPTION here...

Well, in computer terms anyone over the age of 30 is a senior citizen. For those that have achieved this milestone, NOD32 should give it to them for free!

I switched from SAV10 to nod this year and received a "competetive" discount. But this was for a corporate license for 60+ users. For home my daughter purchased a five user license with a student discount.

Actually, my Compaq 8086 had not just one but two floppy drives. A year later, I had a 20MB HD installed for $200 - the going rate in the mid-1980's. Computer was purchased maxed out with 640K RAM also.

I checked the calendar and my driver's license and determined that I definitely can qualify on that basis.

BTW I do remember my father's being sent from Texas to New York for an IBM school on hard-wiring boards to run tabulating machine programs for Humble Oil & Refining Co. (AKA Exxon).

Humble Oil & Refining Co.? Ye gods! Next thing you'll tell me, they had a saber-toothed tiger as their mascot. And the Sinclair Oil dinosaur was actually not extinct yet.
