Did you log in before trying to purchase the $29.99 upgrade? If you didn't the system would not see you as owning TI8, thus NOT entitled to the upgrade offer and would switch you to the new customer site.

Your best bet now would be to contact sales and explain the problem.

Also from what I have seen on postings 2311 is the new German build. There has been some mention of a yet to be released 2310 English build.

Yes, beckygb. I did log in first. IN fact, here is the exact screen I saw when logged in. I've altered my serial number a bit. I've bolded the words I'm referring to in which it offered a $29. upgrade if I just click that link.

I feel it is always better to get confirmation from the official site of acronis (for that matter any online software vendor) before downloading software from third party links.
Acronis update site still shows 2302 and that should be final.
BTW, I have never till date recieved any mail from acronis when new builds are released.o_O

I regularly obtain updated versions of many kinds of my programs on several sites, Version Tracker is one........ FileForum.betanews.com...another. I've never had any problems in ages doing so.

If Acronis doesn't already do so, your idea sounds great. Ask Acronis to send users (who request it) emails announcing availability of new builds.

Do they not have any announcement type of "outreach" at all? I'm pretty new to Acronis, and know little about them.

Weird, I did NOT login to the acronis site, I clicked the general 29.99 upgrade offer that is listed on the frontpage of acronis.com - e.g. click on the TrueImage 9.0 box image on the right side which takes you to the product info, then I clicked on the link under the 2 green BuyNow buttons which says "Upgrade to the current version" - this let me *upgrade* for 29.99 without having to login to the site...

    Hello JamesUSA,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

Please accept our sincere apologies for your inconvenience.

The point is that I just have tested it myself and found that our web site really redirects you to the wrong link. Actually, you have purchased the full version of Acronis True Image 9.0 instead of the upgrade.

I have already forwarded this information to our Web Team and they will do their best in order to fix this problem as soon as possible.

Please submit a request for technical support. Describe the issue and provide the information about your erroneous purchase of Acronis True Image 9.0 (order number, e-mail, serial number, etc.) along with the the link to this thread. We will certainly help you.

    Thank you.

    Hello everyone,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

In regards to the build 2311 which has been announced on FileGorum, I should say that the number of the latest officially released build of the English version of Acronis True Image 9.0 is 2302.

Please also note that every registered user of Acronis True Image 9.0 can always download the latest official build of Acronis True Image 9.0 in the Product Updates section of our web site.

    Thank you.

No. Digital River didn't make a mistake.

In fact, it seems that after you posted your message here, Acronis rep. posted a new message saying they tested the issue I reported, and they verified that folks were being redirected to a wrong page...to buy the full version vs. the upgrade version they were entitled to. I guess they may change that.

Today, the link offering me an upgrade for $29 has disappeared without any explanation. So perhaps some kind of changes are being made in response to my posts yesterday.

Thanks for your time and comments!

    James
