VIA 8237 Chipset [Information required]

As you all know, Acronis has been recently tackling the VIA 8237 chipset compatibility issue with Acronis True Image 8.0 (when using it from Bootable Rescue media).

We've now located the possible cause of the issue, however, we would like to ask you to help us in resolving the issue.

Please, all the users that experience problems with the abovementioned chipset, could you tell us the exact name of your motherboard, the specification of the hard drives installed (including type e.g. IDE, SCSI, SATA, etc.), the type of installation (non-RAID, RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 0+1, etc.) and what is the difference between imaging/restoring your drive in Windows compared to starting the procedure from the bootable rescue media.

Example:

MB: Asus A7V600
Hard drive(s): Seagate 200GB SATA (non-RAID)
Explanation: In Windows the process takes about 15 minutes, while when started from the bootable media it says it will need 4 days to complete.

After gathering your information we would issue a huge series of testing and likely fix the issue. Hopefully this investigation will also help us to avoid similar problems with future VIA chipsets as well.

Any additional input on the problem is very welcome as well.

I'll submit my info so that I can get this to work for my system:

O/S: WinXP Pro SP2
M/B: Biostar P4M80-M7
BIOS: P4M8M725.BF (latest from Biostar)
Via Driver: 3.00A
H/D: 2 x Maxtor 200B DiamondMax in Raid 0 - SATA, 1 IDE WD 120GB
Acronis: TI 8 Build 937

The problem...will not restore image onto Raid0...it gets to the final screen and just hangs there. I left it running for about 5 hours and no progress and tried moving my mouse as I read some people did to wake it up.

I really need a backup/restore solution and if Acronis can't then what will? I was given one suggestion already but looking for a commercial product.
