    HI,

Yesterday i tried to restore an image from above Laptop(latest Bios).

Acronis Treuimage version 7 build 638 is installed.

    1) I tried to start the restore process from windows so that system boots and tries to start from the linux kernel.
Acronis Loading and then black screen forever

    2) Started from the version bootdisk same result

    3) used a version 9 bootdisk(latest build) let me choose fullversion , then a smaller version without pcmcia+ usb drivers etc, and start windows

    so i choosed full:

    Result:

CRC Error(6) freeing initrd memory 9812k freed.
    Kernel panic: No init found
    Try passing init:eek:ption to kernel

Thats really tough cause its very important for our company to get this image restored.

What is your image stored on? External drive, or in the Secure Zone on the laptop drive?

    Hello Marachi,

Have you tried the acpi=off noapic workaround around (make sure you type the second command as noapic not noacpi !!) detailed in the Acronis Support Sticky tiitled <Please Read Before You Post>?

    Regards

    Hello Marachi and timvirin,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

Could you please recreate Acronis Bootable CD with Acronis True Image 9.0 and see whether the problem still persists?

    Thank you.

    Hello Marachi,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

Please create Linux system information (sysinfo.txt) as it is described in Acronis Help Post.

If you will not be able to create a sysinfo.txt file for some reasons then please boot from the Acronis True Image 9.0 rescue disc once more and press F11 key when the selection screen appears.

After you get the "Linux Kernel Settings" prompt, please remove the "quiet" word, click on the OK button. As the startup messages stop scrolling please write down the last few lines of the output, or use a digital camera to make shots of the output screens.

Please create an account, then log in and submit a request for technical support. Attach all the collected files and information to your request along with the step-by-step description of the actions taken before the problem appears and the link to this thread.

We will do our best in order to resolve the problem under consideration as soon as possible.

    Thank you.
