Upgrading Instructions for Users with SpywareGuard v1.1:

It is highly recommended that all users with SpywareGuard v1.1 installed follow these instructions before upgrading to SpywareGuard 2.0:
    1) Open the SpywareGuard Control Panel for v1.1.
    2) Disable the SpywareGuard protection.
    3) Uninstall SpywareGuard 1.1.
    4) Reboot the computer
    5) Install SpywareGuard 2.0

SpywareGuard 2.0 includes a much-improved installation and uninstallation process, so the above instructions will not apply to it.

    Fantastic Javacool, Thank you. :D

    Just a couple of things:

I have been using Browser Hijack Blaster; does this SG update mean that by using SpywareGuard 2.0 I can eliminate BHB?

With SG version 2.0 I had to bypass Proxomitron in order for liveupdate to work, I believe this is because SG installed a IE BHO for download protection. Anyway, I think the URL I can enter into the Bypass or Trusted blockfiles is "www.javacoolsoftware.com" correct?

That is correct. SpywareGuard's Browser Hijack Protection surpasses the capabilities of Browser Hijack Blaster.

SpywareGuard does install a BHO (for download protection) but that wouldn't be causing problems with its LiveUpdate.

SpywareGuard's LiveUpdate simply uses the default proxy settings, as configured in IE's Internet Tools panel. "www.javacoolsoftware.com" would be the updates server, yes. Should problems occur, updates might also be served from "www.wilderssecurity.net"

EDIT: Also, please note that using SpywareGuard and SpywareBlaster together is a must. Otherwise, spyware can still get in through ActiveX drive-by-downloads (which SpywareBlaster protects against).

    Best regards,
