Kerio 2.15 is very light, so is NetVeda.

Kerio 4.20, ZoneAlarm 6 and Sygate 5.6 all tend to run heavy.

Windows XP SP2 ICF works just fine. Initially configure it to deny everything, no Exceptions, Services, or ICMP, and check the 'Display a notification when Windows Firewall blocks a program' box.

If you encounter any problems with the hardened ICF settings go back and make the required changes. My computer works just fine with everything disallowed.

I would recomend Kerio 2.1.5, I use it and it very light on resource use. And the windows firewall will not filter outbound applications.

CHX is the lightest but it is inbound only, Kerio 2x is second lightest followed by NetVeda, Jetico and Filseclab.

It is an older version. The new 4.2x has both paid and free version.

I heard that Kerio 2.1.5 lets through any packets with the
    fragment bit set.

    o_Oo_Oo_O?

What does it mean and it is danger?

I think it depends on the pc and if you're running several programs it might also affects the system resources. For me I didn't experience any problem using Kerio 4.2 on system resources, it even have speeded up my dial-up connections.

CHX is actually lighter, but offers no traditional outbound app control, so you pay a small price for that with Kerio, but not much.. Kerio is one of the lightest...

Just click that you want to add a new thread?

Kerio 4. something is good, but it's heavy on resource. Kerio 2.15 and Jetico are very light on resource, but Kerio 2.15 is a no frills firewall. It's a firewall nothing else. Jetico is on the same vain but has SPI, but it's an expert firewall and for some is not easy to configure. Finally the pop-ups will probably drive most people mad, unless you willing to spend the time configuring the firewall.

Sadly it assigns MD5 values to each rule, so there is no chance of anyone creating a good set of rules that people can download. It's one the major downsides to the firewall as it's very light.

I've tried most of the firewalls and for the moment I quite like Zone Alarm 6 and I don't find it too heavy on resource once you turn off the Anti-Virus monitoring.

ZA 6 runs a little heavy on my system. ZA 5 works like a charm.
    Kerio 2.X.X also runs light!

Sygate 5.5.2710 is not a big memory hog.
Consumes a little more if DLL Authentication is turned on though. At least temporary memory peaks.

Not much CPU usage and does not slow down internet speed.
