Wow, nice picture HO and nice dog too! Xaos terrazo? that's the first time I hear of it. Since the dog is light brown it can look great with a Coblat blue background too.

I think that proper care and education, play a big role in the dog's behaviour (just like Bigbuck said). It is true that in the past some people owned them to have them fight with other dogs and so on. But fortunately, things have changed today and most of them simply live a normal dog's life. But it is hard to change mentality. And there's lots of negative publicity around them too.:(

Any dog can bite or do silly things if not educated properly, only a few, in any breeds, can be bad for no reason.

When I was in Quebec, I used to have dogs. For many years I had Beagles and a German Sheppard. I never had any issues with them. They were all soft and playful. One thing though, most people were friendly with them but some of them looked at my German Sheppard like it was the Yeti itself! and used to ask : why did you get a dog like that? They can be very dangerous you know and so on. Most of them seemed to know better about dogs than me, even if they never owned a dog, lol. Seriously, the owner himself or herself is the first person that really knows if their animal is aggressive or not. If the animal is raised properly, good education and social contacs, adequate food and proper exercices, the chances are their animal will never get agressive or bite anyone. Of course, the owner has to be honest too if their animal becomes aggressive for no reason, it is much better for himself/herself and everyone to get rid of it than keeping it and having all sort of issues. Fortunately, this doesn't happen often. ;)

Because I learned it.;) I started taking drawing and painting lessons since I was a teen until college. One thing they taught me repeatedly was how to match colours, perspective and composition too.

If I can sum up VERY BRIEFLY, all cold colours can be match together and
all hot colour can match together too but everytime you want a subject to comes out, it is always good to think of opposite or complementary colours.

    ...for instance

The opposite colour of red is green, the opposite of beige is light blue, the opposite of brown is Cobalt blue, the oppostite of yellow is purple. In you dog picture, the dog is beige so a light blue or darker blue will do for the background to make it come out.

Since red is a strong colour, you don't have to put a lot of it to bring out something that is green.

of course there is other ways to make a subject come out too. if you put it
in the centre of a picture or if you make its colours more assertive than anything around it or having kind of a secret geometry that leads to it...and so on.

I don't always use coplementary colours to make a subject come out
all the time but it is useful to know them. Publicists use them often.;)

Re: Paint Shop Pro & PhotoFiltre Talk

...and of course, hot colours are the colours that contain yellow in it
and the cold colours are all colours containing blue in it.

so yellow. orange, red, brown are hot colours.
...blue, violet, purple, green are cold colours.

WHEREAS, some colours can be neutral when they contain both blue and yellow in them.Tuquoise is considered to be neutral for it has the same amount of blue and yellow in it. It can usually match any colour too. Some beige are neutral too, like ivory. Gray, white and black are neutral.

Here's a nice figurative painting made of both hot and cold colours. See the turquoise in the back and the beige in the front that appease the force of all the other colours by their neutrality and bring a sense of stability to the whole picture. I found that pic on the net and thought it was a very interesting painting.;)

Thanks for the info Uguel. If I read it a few more times I will probably remember it because it makes sense the way you put it.

I read a curious thing in a book on photography. since I don't read much it has stuck with me for years. That is that (exept maybe a portrait) it makes a photo more interesting if the subject is not centered on the bisecting line. It looks better if it is centered at about 1/3. I believe so too. Just thought I'd throw that in.

Also, looking at that last painting a funny thought popped into my head. Remember to separate the brights when you do you laundry!:D

I keep seeing this stage of my old picture. I like the colors so I thought Id do a Lacquer frame. The bevel was done first so it would be more 3D. Alien skin splat is the plugin that does the pills. It is really good for frames.

Very nice work everyone :) Handsoff, I thought all those pills were candy at first, lol :)
Has anyone seen Marja since she went to those haunted cabins at that ranch? :D Don't tell me she decided to stay, lol :D
Here is one I just did using PhotoFiltre for the grid lines, and PaintShop for the sparkles, and the frame. It's pretty much just like the others I did, I just wanted to show the lines in this one. You all know I love sparkles :D (these are the same halloween fonts I used last for my last pic I posted) I just recently learned how to use PhotoFiltre's colored grid line effects. They can make a really neat background for pictures, gives a nice graphic look to them. I will make one to show, soon :)

I agree, it is a nifty effect. It cannot help but give the impression of depth. The mind sees the black as being beneath the blue grid, and the blue grid beneath the White grid, the white grid beneath the photos, and the frame higher still.

Right, except when the subject is close or occupy 2/3 of the picture or more.

Lol,....it also looks like many wool sweaters were in the same washing!:D

it's original! ;) And, I like the one you made with Joan of Arc, post# 2071. I saw that TV drama and it was very good. Peter O'Toole was playing in it.

It's very pretty and your daughter has a beautiful smile!:)

Here are some good links to downoload fonts. I found one that was very
interesting, a dingbat font, I made several pics from it. The font is called
Fabeldyr and was downloaded at Font Freak.;)

This is what I obtained when I chose the Fabeldyr font, size 200 pixels,
and letter Z typed in the middle of the frame. Not bad, eh?:)

Nice galley Uguel. I did the following, even before I saw your post with more fonts. I spent a long time trying to figure out fonts over the last couple of days. This is the result:

    Thanks Uguel!

Marja, you asked about if xenofex1 was a good plugin to have considering that almost all of its effects are identical (in name) to one's (presumably) upgraded in Xenofex2. I mainly have passed over xenofex1, however there are at least 2 effects that are interesting in X1. one of them "baked earth" is not in X2 at all. The other one "constellaton" is very different. while x2 version goes more for a stylized star with optional stylized twinkle, x1 goes for a diffused light effect that is entirely different. This was my first attempt:

    you're welcome Sonya.:)
There are little French Canadian PSP tutorials on the web
but I found a real good one last week that can teach
you to do things that are nice and not too long.
This is where I learned to do the Drakkar
    and this.....

On a sadder note, Kirsten Dunst, the late starring actress of Spiderman was found dead, apparently the victim of some sort of large spider.

    ===========================================================

Brad, I almost didn't read the meaning in your message. Knowing your knowledge to be extensive I did some research. Apparantly Australians have know for decades that raw bones are extremely good for dogs. Here in the US we have a tendancy to blindly follow the advice of trained experts and disregard common sence. I have never before heard of the practice of feeding raw bones to dogs. I suppose this is obvious to you (dog had the teeth of a five year old at 16) but bones are good for their teeth. I asked you for your secret and I got one. And my dogs all got fresh bones today! And I got a TV dinner.

    ***** Late Addition *****
I just wanted to add that no animals were harmed during the making of this picture. This is a trained stunt squirrel who has made countless appearances in movies and documentaries performing many impossible-looking squirrel stunts.

Warning: This squirrel is a highly trained professional. Do not attempt this stunt yourself or injury could just happen.

Designers in europe are already clammering for the source of this material. Not only is this all-natural, water repelling material very chic and stylish. Calvin Klein and others are planning to tout its ability to hermetically seal potential attackers in a coccon like package until police can arrive as a gimmick to appeal to harried urban females residing or working in high crime areas.
