WebWasher

I have trialed and I like Webwasher, but I have a question I hope someone can answer for me.

Is it possible to configurate WebWasher on a "per site" basis? For example, one site will block referrers, the other won't?

I am not going going to use Proxomitron so if that is what you are going to recommend let me prematurely thank you and say thanks but no thanks..

If anyone knows the answer, I would appreciate it...

 

Webwasher can be configured to handle cookies (good, bad, neutral) per site. For referer removal Webwasher gives three options:

* always
* if the domain or path is different
* if the domain is different

And you can create user defined filtering and blocking lists (optional blacklist or white list) of URL which you (don't) want to have filtered/blocked.

I'm using the Webwasher Classic (free) version (3.3), I cannot say anything about the enterprise version which might have other abilities...

Sorry not trying to hijack this tread but I would like to ask a question. How does WW fair with web bugs?

 

Depending on configuration, Webwasher (Classic) can remove webbugs, referrers, cookies, (potentially) tracking URL prefixes, (animated) gifs, prevent scripts from being excuted and popups from being displayed and has a dimension filter which can disable images and applets defined by size....

Lots of possibilities for fine tuning!

 

I like WebWasher except that it doesn't seem to get rid of the cookies after the browsing session like it says it can do.I use CookieJar instead.

I don't have the patience to work with Proxomitron.

 

Proxo is hard, i'm still working on getting things right. But I would like to learn more about how to config WW. Any links on how to config WW so it can do all was TAT said it can do?

 

Actually configuration of Webwasher is not difficult, even if it's a lot - but the UI is quite self explaining.

However - a google search about WebWasher configuration brings up about 10 result pages. IMHO a quite helpful one is this comprehensive configuration guide:
