How does the Boot CD determine screnn resolution?

Is it based on the display settings on the PC where I created the Boot CD?

I created one on my PC, where I have my screen size set to 1280x1024. I then went over to a friend's house to help him set up backups, downloaded the Acronis True Image 9.0 software to his machine which is set to 1024x768 display size, created a backup, then booted from the CD I'd created on my machine. We couldn't see the buttons at the bottom of the screen on most of the screens.

I left, totally confused, but now I'm wondering if we'd created the Boot CD on his machine with the smaller display, would that have worked properly? I'm asking here, since it's a long drive back to his place, and I don't really want to talk him through the process of creating the Boot CD over the phone.

    Hi, jeannieb360

All you have to to tell him is go to Acronis in his Start Menu and click on Make Bootable what-ever

Resize the window with mouse so you can see the buttons.

PS: You should have made the BootCD when you was there at his house. ;)

    Take Care,

Thanks for confirming my suspicion - I should have made the boot CD while at his house. Now that I'm sure that will work, I'll tell him to go ahead and make the boot cd himself.
