I like that girl too, she's got such a funny expression. Well, I was browsing
google searching for an "hexe", witch in English, and I found her on a
website offering technical services. She had no hat on, see picture below,
so I drew the hat. Yes, you use it if you want. It might look great with
    a glossy effect.

Right, those plugins can be tricky at first. We have to explore all the possibilities ourselves. I have Blade Pro, and used it sometimes for doing
letters or frames. I like it although I don't use it often. It is not the plugin
    I like best either.

you have a nice background there, HO!

That one's great Mac! I love that Hue and Cry filter (don't know anyhing about Blade Pro.....might have to have a look)
Anyway, here's my little play with H&C...looks a bit like melting candles? or coloured things submerged in a black liquid? It was just a H&C filter, then Virtual Photographer "Ambience", the a plasti wrap filter in DIP....

Hey Brad, what is virtual photographer? It sounds like a good one to me. Isn't it cool how smooth that black looks in your second one. That's something that has always fascinated me, that you can make a picture look like glass, metal or liquid.

Here is sort of a reject from Flaming Pears Polymorph. I have never quite had a success, but I transformed the scraps into this scene of wild Africa!

Now I'm really mad! It won't let me post the picture. Probably thinks it is a duplicate post. Well, maybe i'll post what it was as a scrap...

    A Spotlight Effect

I've already posted this on another forum but I think it is good tell it here too...

Here's an easy & nice tutorial I found on how to apply a spotlight
on an image, I tried it out on different pictures than the one in
the tutorial and it worked well.

    http://www.designsbyjoy.net/PSPTutorials1/Spotlight.htm

You will need Greg's Factory Filters (free) Spotlight that you can
download directly on the same page.

Tip: if the light effect is too sharp, reduce the "inner grain"
setting in the Spotlight filter. Also, you might increase the focus
if you want more light on your pictures so that you will lose less details.;)

Here's a few ones I did with Greg's Factory Filter...

Picture 1, without the Spotlight filter

...picture 1, with the Spotlight filter.

    More examples.

    Picture 2, ....without Spotlight filter

and with the Spotlight filter applied, Note that I applied it sparingly.
the effect can be more assertive than that.

The governor in our state has allowed cities to ban specific breeds of dogs. My dog Sonia is considered a Pitbull --- a monster. Anyway, you know it's the time of year for posting monsters. Hope no one is too terrified.

By the way, I did the background with a tiler - xaos terrazzo. I tiled her hair, and then changed the hue and saturation and brightness. My theory was it would miraculously match the foreground in some unknown way. I think I'm going to start doing it a little more.

...any excuse to post a picture of my dog!

I am trying firefox again, and decided that I needed to make a new IE icon since I will still have IE. It said this was just 5 KB for a 128 x 128 image. Anyway, this is not exactly the icon, but it is pretty close.

Hmmmmm? Really terrifying! .....I, long ago, came to the conclusion that there are no 'bad' breeds of dog.....but plenty of bad breeds of owner! Dogs, like children, are simply a product of their environment. Unfortunately, dogs can't choose their owners.....

Thanks Uguel! I always feel like it is a special accomplishment if I make a picture pretty much based on imagination. in this case the computer generated some weird pictures and I tried to find stuff in the mix. there were some pretty odd ones.

cleaning my picture files isn't working. I just end up making new ones. Flaming Pear. Swerve. And I really want to see this movie, Joan of Arc!

So true. You said it perfectly: Terrifying. I don't know what I can say about any of the players involved. The governor, the media, the public.

These are only dogs! And not even big dogs. Average of 60-70 pounds. My three were 57, 63, and 68 pounds. Someone told me that our city is doing some kind of survey and may ask about what pets we own. What makes one human being feel he needs to get into other peoples lives and run it for them?

Well, this picture (of a Maltese - they should be banned for barking!) Just a simple plugin from crescent filters. I don't think they are in business. But they made a couple good ones. In fact Terracotta by CF is really a good tile generator.

.....all this dog talk just makes me miss my 'old mate' of 17 yrs!......an alsation cross that the wife brought home from the pound for my 21st/22nd birthday. He's been gone nearly two years now....and still sorely missed. Haven't been able to get another just yet, although I would love to have a puppy for my 5yo girl.
Not sure if I'm up for puppy training school again though! I still remember coming home from work (near on 20 yrs ago now) to find the washing all over the yard, all the plants in the backyard dug up, and the garden hose chewed into 150 two inch bits:D ......but he was still worth his weight in gold.....well after a couple of years anyway....;)

I don't think I've ever known anyone with a dog that lived 17 years (did I misread?) You must have some secret that you should share with the dog loving community! Did you feed him or her table scraps? Chocolate? Icecream? Was he/she neutered? Allowed to roam free?

This may be because I got them at the same time, so they had each other for company, but in five years Sonia and Neeko have only chewed up one plastic flower pot and two camera lensecaps. I used to take them off the string and set them down when I used my camera. Why lenscaps of all things?

I thought I would post another Flaming Pear Primus picture. It's intent, I believe, was to demonstrate what a watered down version of blade pro could do so you would get blade pro. Or you could be like me and just use Primus because it is simple and not use blade pro at all. However, i do have blade pro and super blade pro. I just don't use them. so in a way the demo worked. either way (i believe) neither primus (free), or blade pro ($) are available. But does this truly advance the Super Bladepro product? I wonder. Even Gwendel, the reviewer on the free plugin site states that she prefers plain old blade pro. Okay here is one from the only one within my limited grasp, Primus: The Pyrafish

No typo! '87-'04 (16 years actually). Neutered male, ate standard dog food, and two bones (straight from the freezer) every day. Kept in a big fenced yard. In his final years, vet said he still had the teeth of a five year old dog...
Secret...?? Impure bloodline maybe? He looked like a standard alsation, but had a splash of something else in him...
