Retrieving Specific Files & Folders From Back-Up

Hello.
I have recently purchased and installed Acronis True Image Version 9.0. With this program I have been able to successfully back-up specific folders and files.

My question is, now that I have the Backup Archive file, how can I open it to view and open the specific folders and the individual files contained within it? It is a very large file being over 2 GB. in size. I don't want to have to restore the entire backup file everytime I want to view a few files. I checked the Help Contents that are included with the program but could not find an answer.

Unfortunately TI 9 does not have an option to explore a folder/file .tib

 

Then how do you restore individual Folders/Files if you can't see them?

 

I haven't tried it but I imagine you could create a small partition big enough to restore all folders/files from the image. Then it's just a matter of copying the required files to where you want them.

Where can I find the User Guide - Section 5.2? I checked the help contents and it was not arranged in sections. Thank you for your assistance.

 

I thought you could "right click" on the .tib file. There should be an option to Plug it. That mounts the back up as a drive letter. Get your files or folders, then when your done right click the plugged drive and unplug it to dismount it.

What I backed up was a large folder over 2 GB. in size. It contains over 30 sub-folders, each containing hundreds of files of various types.

I followed your suggestion and the "plug" option was there. But it wouldn't permit the operation because it saw no partitions.

If you or anyone else can let me know how to do this, please let me know. This is the reason I purchased this software.

Opps, your right about the partition message. Looks like you have to do a resotre operation and only select the files you want.

 

I checked that list, but the newest version, the True Image 9.0, is not included.

Also, why would I have to do a restore operation in order to view some jpg or other similar type files? I have not backed-up these files with the intent to re-boot.

Thanks for showing where the directions were. I followed them and it allowed me to browse the files and restore individual ones.

Now, I only have one more issue. How come, unlike the original file, when I right-click on the properties of a particular file, all three dates - created, modified, and accessed - all of them show today's date? I also need the original dates these files were created and modified. Thanks for your assistance.

The incorrect date problem has already been reported via this forum and acknowledged by Acronis Support. See these previous threads:
