I would like to do a clean installation of an operating system, with all the latest patches etc. then put an image of that installation on a cd. I would like to have only one cd where I can put it in the drive, and either hit yes or no and the whole drive will be restored. Is there a way to put a small dumbed down bootable version of Acronis that will get this done?
    thanks

    Hello dkerlee,

Thank you for interesting in Acronis Disk Backup Software.

We regret to inform you that there no way to restore the image absolutely automatically. You can put your image to Acronis Bootable CD, then boot from CD and start restore image from it. However, you should perform few steps manually to restore your image archive.

    Thank you.

If you check the size of the installed OS it is much greater then what can fit on a CD. The only way MS gets the OS to fit on a CD is through compression of all the files need to load the OS on a HDD. The install program expands these compressed files into a working OS on the HDD.
