I have TI latest version 8 installed in pc A,whereas pc B has nothing.
If i upgrade to TI version 9 and install it in pc A,
can i legally-practically use the old version 8 in pc B?

After all,it might be seen as a completely different software, and the fact you have to pay more than half of the initial amount of money you paid for TI8 might depict TI9 as 'something else'...

According to a response from Acronis posted earlier in this forum (can't locate it right now), sorry, that won't fly. You didn't pay for a new program. You got new functionality, reduced price - for the same single license. I have recently received an e-mail from Serif, they sometimes sell older software for a reduced price, TI 8, boxed version is 19.95 right now. Some might be interested.

Thank you Backman, that's what i wanted to know, too bad.
I have a second pc which is older (still ok,though),but hasnt got a DVD burner, just a CD functionality, but i can use an external HD.
Yes i could seek one of the reduced price TI8 offers at about 19$, but it would be more rational in my case to keep my TI8 version and install it in my old pc while i buy an entirely new Acronis licence at 49$,then. I just wonder if this change of pc could work or if there is anything to it.

I was interested to read earlier in this forum that if you create a boot CD you are supposed to have a distinct license for each different machine you use it to boot from. If you want to set up half a dozen pc's to have the same image as one off installation, this seems an expensive route.

Ditto. I crawled all over serif.com and couldn't find it.

Hmm... I see what you mean. I received this offer via e-mail. They usually move these offers to their website after a short time, but it must still be for their subscribers at this point. I could post the link, but it fills in the order information with my personal information automatically. The e-mail states in the fine print that if I received it from a friend that I should go to their site and register first. If you don't mind the occassional (once or twice a month) promotion, I will be happy to forward the info along so you could take advantage of these kinds of things. I hate to do it here in this forum though. PM me and I will supply the link.
