Well I have had a lot of prblems over the past week both in creating and restoring images. First of all I would like to say thank you to those who have given me help and advice. I now have a set up that is working albeit strange.
First of all I am running TI8 build 937 on a raid configuration of two 160gb maxtor hard drives and the image is stored on another internal hard drive.Full specs below.
I had to seek help on creating a Bartpe cd with raid drivers which I have now done which works half way.
I can create an image from within windows in the time one would expect for what I am imaging. However the boot cd created from within TI8 hangs and does not work.
The Bartpe cd created allows the restore as it should be but will not let me create an image from it as it hangs.
It has taken me a week to get this far and the above works for me. Up until this point in time I had never heard of Bartpe with the TI plug in and it shows me that there are a lot of clever people out there willing to assist others.
It may be worth others trying the above to resolve issues they have.
This is going to ensure that I don't upgrade to version 9 until it becomes stable.

    Asus P4P800 socket 478 motherboard
    3.2ghz Prescott intel Pentium 4
    3gb of Crucial PC3200 memory
Raid configuration 0 striped with two 160gb Maxtor sata hard drives
Western Digital 200gb and Maxtor 200gb storage hard drives
    Audigy 2 creative soundcard

There was one thing I forgot to mention is that when restoring I have to do it as three individual partitions when working through the restore wizard.

    Hello coling,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

Please accept my apologies for the delay with the response.

As I have understood, there are two major problems that you encounter at the moment:

    1. Acronis True Image 8.0 build 937 Bootable Rescue CD does not boot.

Please create Linux system information (sysinfo.txt file) as it is described in Acronis Help Post.

If you will not be able to create a sysinfo.txt file for some reasons then please boot from the Acronis True Image 9.0 rescue disc once more and press F11 key when the "Starting Acronis Loader..." message appears.

After you get the "Linux Kernel Settings" prompt, please remove the "quiet" word, click on the OK button. As the startup messages stop scrolling please write down the last few lines of the output, or use a digital camera to make shots of the output screens.

Please also collect the following information:

When exactly the boot process stops?

Describe actions taken before the problem appears step-by-step.

Create an account, then log in and submit a request for technical support. Attach all the collected files and information to your request along with the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with the solution.

    2. Some problem, causing you to restore three individual partitions instead of the image of the entire had drive.

Please describe the issue in more words. Provide me with the step-by-step description of the actions taken before the problem appears.

    Thank you.
