    Latest update
    ---

I just wanted to add, that although I'm having trouble booting the new hard disk into Windows, it might well be the new Maxtor hard drive which is causing this latest problem (blue screen error on boot up), or is not formatted properly, etc.

Meanwhile I'm very happy to spend some time trying to puzzle this one through and recover the data using T.I. That way I'll know I can do it, and that I could use it on other PCs as well.

On the plus side, T.I. has saved all my data, and I can see the O.S too. Its like I'm just a whisker of getting it to reinstate on a new hard drive.

Meanwhile, thanks for all the support and feedback so far (I feel like a patient in hospital!) :)

I'll update my original post with the latest as it comes in ;-)

    Thanks again,

    Tinn

Ive decided to try and backup one of my Desktop PCs as a test.
I installed Acronis True Image-8 and went to the 'create a boot
disk' section to create a bootable CD, but T.I only sees my floppy
disk. The CD drive is working fine, and I even tried deleting the drivers
for it and reinstalling. I also reinstalled T.I.

Any ideas how I get T.I to see my CD drive?

    Thanks,

    T.

    Hi, Tinni

I hope you do not think me rude in asking this? as this has happen before, Is the CD Drive a ReadWriter? if not Ti will not show it.

    Hi Q,

Thanks for this info. No, I hadnt realised T.I. wont read CD drives, only CD/Rs. (Makes sense though).

This is an older PC that I'm trying T.I on, and I thought it had a CD/r, but turns out just to be a CD/DVD reader.

Well that tip saved me an hours work swopping the CD-drive around - :)

    T,
