    Same for me on a DVD RW... but looking at the FAQ:
    http://www.acronis.de/homecomputing/products/trueimage/faq.html#27

    Seems that we need to had a 3rd party software, seems as well that there is a 2GB limit on file size. Has anyone done this before and can explain how to ?

    Thx,

    David

    My "workaround" isn't exactly what you want to do, but it may help: I never write images directly to CD or DVD (although ATI should be able to do this), but create an image on a local hard disk (or an external USB drive). ATI can split the image file to the appropriate size, e. g. 650 MB for CDr, a.s.o. Then just burn those partial image files to your desired media. I've never experienced problems with this method, but, like you, sometimes if I tried to burn the image directly on CD /DVD.

    I can vouch for this method. Create image with TI to HD first, then use other s/w to burn your DVD(s). I like having the redundancy of an offline archive copy, and a HD image for fast recovery.

    Hello Francisca997 and GPH,

    Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

    Please note that the current version of Acronis True Image does not write to DVD disсs directly, instead it utilizes third party UDF packet DVD writing software. We may recommend you to install a UDF packet DVD writing software such as Ahead InCD or Roxio DirectCD, format DVD disсs by means of this software and then use formatted disсs with Acronis True Image. If the problem remains please do the following:

    - Start Acronis True Image and create a new task using Schedule Task wizard, but do not schedule it (on the Start Parameters page choose "Do not start automatically"). Set the name of the new task to "Test Task";
    - Download the following files from our site:

    http://download.acronis.com/ul/k/v/c/x/hescxapwgypkhtmhdohu/dbgdlls.zip
    http://download.acronis.com/ul/w/q/z/s/vbfczwwzqiyvpeuwhatz/TrueImage9.0_dbg_s_e.zip (English version) or http://download.acronis.com/ul/z/g/p/t/xiexmiwccksxrzsvuueg/TrueImage9.0_dbg_s_g.zip (German version)

    - Unpack the files into the \Program Files\Acronis\TrueImage folder;
    - Open the \Documents and Settings\[User]\Application Data\Acronis\TrueImage\Scripts\ folder and find the script file with the following parameter inside: display name="Test Task". Please note that this folder is hidden, so you may need to enable "Show hidden files and folders" option in Tools\Folder Options\View menu;
    - Copy the script file to the \Program Files\Acronis\TrueImage folder;
    - Start Command Prompt from Start -> Programs -> Accessories menu;
    - Type the following commands in the shell window:

    cd \Program Files\Acronis\TrueImage
    ti_demon /script: [script name] > ti.log 2>&1

    - Send us the ti.log file from the \Program Files\Acronis\TrueImage folder from our web-site: http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/my/support/. Please don't forget to send the link to this thread along with gathered information. This would allow us to investigate the problem and help you with the solution.

    Thank you.
