    WARNING:
Do not buy or use Registry Compressor 2.0 from Rosecity software because it is defective and it will always HANG while Backing up your Registry before Defragmenting it and you have to click inside the main window to abort that process and NO backup will be done and later if your System starts behaving badly you will be unable to restore the previous Registry configuration and will have no option but to Re-install your OS (unless you use some type of Imaging Backups to restore).
People have been complaining for more than a year to Rose City Software and Win-Medic (the developer) about this problem and they invariably respond aknowledging the "bug" and that it will be fixed on the next "upgrade" which has not come in more than a year (and it seems will never come because this software seems to be technically stuck).

These people have demostrated to be irresponsible and negligent and many times they don't even respond to your Emails despite that they state on their website that all the Emailed questions will be responded within 24 hours.

Just for the record . I have used this product and NEVER had the problem you refer to . Thankfully , I have never had to contact them but , if their response time is even close to what you claim , I would strongly recommend that people stay away from this product . Makes no difference how good something may be if they will not respond to problems or questions .

Hi Hollywoodpc, I forgot to mention in my warning that they aknowledged (a year ago when I purchased it and complained about the problem) that "some" customers (not all) are experiencing this problem and that they were working on an Update (or Upgrade) to solve that problem of the backing up process stalling or hanging.
That was one year ago and they haven't released any updates nor upgrades nor solved the problem. I have sent them 3 or 4 Emails in the past 2 weeks asking them waht happened to the upgrade that I have been waiting for it for a year and they haven't solved the problem and that if I did not get a response about this I would post a warning on all Forums to alert people and since they HAVE NOT responded to any of my emails (guilty as charged) I then went ahead and posted this warning here.

A friend of mine sent them an Email yesterday telling them that he read this warning at a Forum and he wanted to know the truth about this problem and ,
guess what? They responded almost in less than 30 minutes to my friend saying that:

"the person that posted that warning (I) is a "disgruntled" customer (so I am the bad guy now and they are angels) and that the backup process, even if it hangs or stalls, you only need to click on the window and it will take you to the next step and the backup "IS" done"

Do you really believe that when any process hangs or stalls and you terminate it by clicking inside that window, that the process will be completed anywayo_O I don't believe it, they are making excuses to justify their inability to solve the problem. And if the backup (as they say) is completed (regardless) then... HOW do you verify that the backup was indeed completed? (you have no way to verify it).

They also told my friend that they are working on the (infamous) Upgrade
so the Backup will be done by the Windows System Restore instead of the software itself (as it has been doing until now), but they don;t say when that Upgrade will be released.

Since you are not experiencing this problem, you are safe, but other people could be experiencing the "hangs" and this warning is directed to them, not you (fortunately).
