I am using Zone Alarm v. 6.0.667.000 (the newest version) and it works fine for me. I have had no problems, but you might want to check the ZA forum before chosing to install it. :)

Sygate Personal Firewall also works fine :)

Which do you have the paid or the free? I ask because I understand the paid has a feature called a tripple firewall, and the free does not, which might or might not influence how a Av would work with it.

What do you mean o_O I've used the the free version of Zone Alarm. No problems from what I've seen. What exactly is the problem ?

I'm not saying there is or is not a problem as I don't know. I'm simply wondering if the triple firewall feature which is present in the paid version , but NOT in the free, might affect some Av's such as NOD. I posted because not all firewalls have a free version and didn't mean to muddy the waters.

I heard something about the triple firewall protecting the OS, but I didn't look into it enough.

Sygate runs great with NOD32. Filseclab also works fine, but I'm only using Filseclab because of doubts on the future of Sygate.

No problems here with the built in one with XP, and the NAT firewall provided by my router.

Hi ... I just found out that symantec bought sygate , Well now because of this, I am now going to try out something else , why ? Because I dislike like symantec ever since they took over what once was a great anti-virus program ( Peter Norton )

Whats going on with the firewalls ? Or is it now all you need is the one xp has and nat type ?

I'm just using a ( nat) router. Others will suggest perhaps rightly that a software firewall is also necessary. Here's a link to a bunch, both free and pay. http://www.spychecker.com/software/firewall.html

    Same here :)

But I also tested NetVeda Safety.Net and Filseclab Personal Firewall Professional and they worked very well... ;)

Hi ... I try out Filseclab Personal Firewall Professional but , I was having problems with it and office 2003 , The firewall wouldn't let me have internet access with outlook 2003 ... Outpost isn't free is it ?

When I tried Filseclab, I didn't have any problem with it about some internet access...

You are right, Outpost Pro isn't free, so forget that suggestion...

I used to be an Outpost user.
Now I´m a LNS user, which we have here at Wilders full support from Frederic.
Give it a try.You will see it´s a great firewall.
    It´s lighter than OP.

    Best Regards,

    DonKid.
