I'm trying to backup a partition from a SATA drive to a second IDE drive which is 100% secure zone. I start the backup and the last thing in the log is

504 Pending operation 115 started: creating partition image

About 15-20 minutes later, my computer rebooted by itself. I tried it again, computer rebooted. There is nothing in the log, no error. I tried to restore and none of the files are there. It didn't work.

Before that, I did manage to backup the C & D partitions, however there were errors which alarm me:

    Operation completed with errors

but there is no description of the error!! I successfully restored a file that I backed up so it did back up some files, but a verify fails so I have no confidence in this backup.

I've heard great things about it but I'm quite disappointed when basic functionality like this doesn't work. If anyone has an idea let me know. If I can't figure this out I'll have no choice but to try ghost. I'm not a Norton fan but I can't imagine it being worse than the way TI 9 2277 works as it is now.

I just reformatted the backup partition to remove the secure zone, and I just did a successful backup. So the problem appears to be related to secure zone. That's actually fine because I'm not too wild about this secure zone since I can't see the files or know what's going on inside.

No so fast, 15 minutes into a backup of my data partition (E), my computer freezes. I think I've had it with Acronis, I'm going to try Ghost.

This is a very similar to the problem I have had with earlier builds of TI. If you have not already done this, try derating your memory in BIOS. This worked for me. TI punishes memory and if you have any weakness, faulty or overclocked, this can cause the sympton you are experiencing. This is a longshot because there could be several other possibilities but its certainly worth a try.
